3 Helpful Tips to Meal Plan Easily!
Meal planning doesn’t have to be overwhelming! Here is how to meal plan: the easy way!
Dinner time again already? Oh, the struggle of wanting to order take out, or just see what is edible in the fridge that doesn’t have to be cooked. Food is frustrating when you are having to decide 3 meals a day, everyday. Here are some tips to help!
1. Make a calendar the whole family can see.
Print out, or use a blank calendar to write in meals for each day. Put it somewhere easily visible. This way, you will remember to thaw meat, or get fresh foods you might need. This will also help with the question of “What is for dinner?”, we can sometimes hear about continuously! (Tip: Write in pencil! You may want to switch meals around through the week or month!)
2. Favorite meals are perfectly acceptable on repeat!
Taco Tuesday anyone? Write down a list of your family’s favorite meals and repeat some of them each week! For example, when I write a monthly meal plan, tacos are every Sunday, some kind of pasta is weekly, and some of our other favorites are every other week. This fills in a lot of days on a monthly or weekly calendar.
3. Shop your pantry, freezers, and refrigerator first!
So many times, we can look in the refrigerator and see food that is about to go bad. Plan some meals around those ingredients and write them down for the next following days. This will help with waste and help you not to have to spend so much at the store. You’d be surprised at some of the things hiding in your freezer!
