I keep my life simple, but simple is really an opinion. To someone, math may be simple and easy. To another, it may be the most dreadful assignment on earth. My kind of simple, might be someone else’s hectic or overwhelm. My kind of slow, might be someone else’s view of boring or lacking. My personal view of simple is doing things I enjoy, and things I am called to do, but without the heaviness of a deadline, or the pressure of someone else’s opinion.
This world is in a constant rush. A rush against time. A rush to advance to the next best thing. A rush to go farther in record time. I want to simplify my life. I want to do what the Lord has called me to do. I want to do it with a grateful heart. I don’t want to do it in a rush. I want to take the time for all of it to soak in. I want to do it correctly, even if I fail a thousand times before succeeding. I want to slow down. I want to enjoy it.
We all live in a modern world. You don’t have to give up all your gadgets and technology to live simply. To me, simple living is a mindset. I have chosen to set my mind on the Lord and simple living.
